Thank you for enrolling in the Basic RiderCourse (BRC). We are committed to providing you with the highest quality of rider education in a safe, positive environment. Please take a moment to review the following information, which will help you prepare for the course.

You will receive an email immediately upon completion of your registration. This email contains important information with your online eCourse link, class, and range information. This email is automatically generated and comes from a “do not reply” address; check your spam box.

How to Succeed in the Basic RiderCourse:

Be on time

The RiderCoaches need to get the class started on time. We suggest you plan to arrive one half-hour early. Please note that directions to the range location have been sent to you upon completion of registration or can be found on our “Locations Page.” We highly recommend you print them out and use them to find your way.

If you are late, you will be DROPPED from the class.

Be dressed appropriately for the riding sessions.

We will not have any loaner riding gear on site for use.

The required personal riding gear is:

 ·      Sturdy, over-the-ankle boots (no tennis shoes)

·       Long Pants (with no holes)

·       A long-sleeved shirt or jacket

·       DOT-compliant helmet

·       Eye protection (visor or glasses)

·       Full-Fingered Gloves

If you do not bring proper riding gear, you’ll be DROPPED from the class.

Bring required documents and, if required, a parent or legal guardian.

To begin the class, you must bring the following

  • A valid Driver’s License

  • Ep 1x11 eCourse Certificate - the link for this eCourse was sent in the confirmation email.

  • Signed waivers - these waivers were sent to you in your confirmation email. Link to “ Waivers

You will need a parent or legal guardian present to sign your waiver form if you are under eighteen years old. Once they sign the waiver, they are free to leave!

Rest, Food, and Water

Make sure you've had adequate rest and food before class. We suggest you bring water and snacks based on your needs. Snacks or drinks will not be provided. There will not be a lunch break.

Understanding Expectations

If you come prepared, we'll make every effort to guide you successfully through the BRC. However, please understand that not every student completes the course. If you cannot meet the objectives of each exercise or pose a safety risk to yourself or others, a RiderCoach may counsel you out of the course.

There are NO GUARANTEES you will pass the training.

Cancellation / Reschedule Policy

Rescheduling a class date may only be possible for students who use this link to complete the “Reschedule Request” form seven days or more before their scheduled class date. Rescheduling is done on a space-available basis, and we make no guarantees you can reschedule for the specific date of your request. There is a non-refundable $50 + administrative fee to reschedule. If the space is available once your payment is complete, you will be moved to your specified date and location.

Please text Riders First at (463) 269-9959 if your scheduled class date is less than seven days away.

If you cannot attend, do not attend, are counseled out, or fail to complete any portion of your training or testing, you forfeit your registration and registration fee. There are no guarantees you will pass this training or testing. We will not provide refunds for any reason.

 Passing The BRC

Written Knowledge Test

The written knowledge test is administered at the end of your MSF EP 1x11 eCourse.

Riding Skills Evaluation

You may accumulate no more than 16 points to pass the Riding Skills Evaluation. Students who do not pass the Riding Skills Evaluation will be given one additional opportunity to take the test. Rescheduling the Riding Skills Evaluation is at the discretion of the RiderCoach. Only two opportunities are given to pass the Riding Skills Evaluation.

Failing the BRC

Not everyone passes the Riding Skills Evaluation on their first try. Any individual who fails the Riding Skills Evaluation will be given one additional opportunity to retake the entire evaluation at the discretion of the RiderCoach. Your RiderCoach will provide you with instructions for retesting.

Being Counseled-Out

Learning to operate a motorcycle safely is both mentally and physically demanding. It requires a great deal of coordination and control of hands, feet, body, and mind. Not everyone develops these skills at the same pace, and some individuals may find it impossible to reach an adequate skill level. Your RiderCoach wants to see you succeed, but if they feel you have become a danger to yourself or others, they may counsel you out. If this happens, you must register again and retake the course from the beginning.

Riding a Bicycle

If you aren't already riding a motorcycle and haven't been on a bicycle in years, we suggest you dust off your old bicycle and take some rides around your neighborhood before you take the BRC. It will help you to get ready for the course. You must be capable of riding and balancing a bicycle to begin the BRC.

Remember to review the confirmation email for further information pertaining to your motorcycle safety training class.

We look forward to meeting you!
